Current Favourites

Hey guys, I hope you’ve all had a good week! I realised I haven’t shared with you my favourites for a while and have been loving some new stuff that, some of which I have mentioned previously on various posts such as on my Autumn Beauty Haul and one or two of the products I am going to mention were included in my last favourites post  but I have discovered a few new artists and songs that I wanted to mention and some books and some instagram accounts I wanted to share. So this is just a general favourites round up for you guys.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Ultimate Cleanse

This one was a product mentioned in the haul post and if you read it you’ll know how long I’ve wanted it. Well I finally got it and I love it! I am literally obsessed. I use this in the evenings and would definitely use it in the mornings if it weren’t for me wanting to save it due to the price. It smells so good, it feels very soothing and leaves my skin feeling clean, fresh and not dry or tight at all. I’m not going to lie, I think it’s overtaken the oskia renaissance cleansing gel as my favourite cleanser! Another thing to note, I love the smell of this cleanser, it reminds me a little bit of the Emma Harder Moringa Cleansing Balm and also Olbas oil which sounds like a weird combination but it feels like it helps if your nose is a little bit congested. It sounds weird but I love the smell although thats one thing to keep in mind as others might not.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial

Another product mentioned in the haul but I couldn’t help myself I am in love! I use this product every 2-3 nights depending on how much my skin feels like it needs it and because of how expensive it was but 1-1.5 pumps is enough for your face and neck so it does go a long way. I love how my skin feels in the morning, it feels very smooth and looks brighter and looks plumper meaning more hydrated which I need this time of year! However, I do not like the smell of this! Vogue described it as “deliciously-scented overnight serum-in-oil” but I don’t like the smell of it. It’s not that its bad, I just wouldn’t rave about the scent however it does have amazing results so I don’t even care if it smells a little bit funky to me!

Kristin Ess Reconstructive Moisture Mask

Okay, last one from the haul blog post I promise! This mask has saved my hair recently after I basically ruined it with bleach back in September! 2 moths on and I have had about 5 inches cut off and gone for a brown ombre/balayage effect and feel more like myself. It does look like its in a lot better condition but I think that’s because light bounces of brown hair better than blonde because, in reality, I have dyed my hair again on top of bleach – so the condition should be a lot worse right? Well it doesn’t just look a lot better it also feels better which is weird but I’m putting it down to this baby that I have been using once a week. I love it because it’s not heavy and it distributes so easily through the hair. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a hair mask! Seriously – not even for anything specific, if you want a hair mask you can get this stuff of feel unique for a very affordable price and can leave it on for up to an hour which I really like as I can apply it and leave it to work its magic as I go about my day doing things around the house.

Glossier Solution

For my last beauty product I had to go with the Glossier Solution which I have mentioned before in my September Favourites post. I am still going with this bad boy and whilst I was away in London on my placement I didn’t use this and I missed it! Like, I noticed such a big difference, my skin looked clogged and I just didn’t feel myself – I don’t think thats entirely down to this product as I wasn’t using a lot of my regular products but as soon as I got back, no word of a lie, I put this on my face because I had missed it that much! I’m glad I have a sister who works as Cabin Crew because I’m almost finished and I want to get another one so am hoping chloe gets a flight to New York soon so she can pick it up for me!

Lullaby by Leila Slimani

I started reading this book at the beginning of my work placement 2 weeks ago as I was getting the train and tube into Fulham everyday and love having a book on me to read on the train. This book was a recommendation from Lucy Williams on her IGTV summer reading list. It was a short book and the premise really interested me (a nanny who murders the children she was looking after) so I thought I’d buy it off amazon. I loved it! it was such a quick read and constantly had you wanting to know more. You know the children are dead from the start but then goes on to talk about the families life and the disturbing nanny.

Never Let You Go by Chevy Stevens

Another book I read during my placement after finishing Lullaby so quickly I asked Issy (my best friend from school who I stayed with in London) if she had a book I could borrow and she leant me this one. This is a bit harder to talk about without giving away any spoilers but I always love a multiple perspective novel which Never Let You Go was and again I could not put this down! I’ll put the blurb just below here but definitely read if you were a fan of Behind Closed Doors or Second Life.

“Eleven years ago, Lindsey Nash escaped into the night with her young daughter and left an abusive relationship. Her ex-husband, Andrew, was sent to jail and Lindsey started over with a new life.

Now, Lindsey is older and wiser, with her own business and a teenage daughter who needs her more than ever. When Andrew is finally released from prison, Lindsey believes she has cut all ties and left the past behind her. But she gets the sense that someone is watching her, tracking her every move. Her new boyfriend is threatened. Her home is invaded, and her daughter is shadowed. Lindsey is convinced it’s her ex-husband, even though he claims he’s a different person. But has he really changed? Is the one who wants her dead closer to home than she thought?”

A couple of songs I’ve been listening to recently are Take Notes by TS Graye as well as Nicole Millar’s Blindfolded and finally Regular Touch by Vera Blue. They aren’t the regular type of music I listen to but they just put me in a good mood all the time and I am obsessed. I’m not going to go into too much detail as you can listen to them yourself plus I’m going to do a music related blog post soon so until then…

Thelayoverlife – Jess is British Airways cabin crew and I am always envious over her posts on instagram, but thats just me with most travel bloggers and cabin crew. Not only does she gives me inspiration to travel to various places but she’s very real (much like her sister who I’ve spoken about below)

Stylelobster – Emily is Jess’ sister and they have recently travelled to the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean and both feeds are fueling my need to travel more than you could imagine! I have also followed Emily’s blog and her youtube channel for a while now and love it. She’s so honest and is a massive inspiration to me.

I also feel like another reason I’ve been loving these two girls so much is they are a bit like me and my sister – one is cabin crew and the other a blogger. I mean I’m no where near Emily in the blogging world but the two women inspire me so much and its really nice and refreshing to see two sisters who are honest and real about their lives.
