This summer my skincare has changed slightly, after my trip to new york where I picked up some things from glossier and then went home and found a few favourites from a while back but I’m mixing it up a bit at the moment and thought I’d share my skincare picks from the summer with you today.
First step in my routine is always a cleanser. As you know, I have been obsessed with the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel for a long time now and I haven’t stopped using it completely. I just used it in the evenings as I’ve found a few new favourites for my morning cleanse. I’ve written numerous blog posts about skincare routines which include the oskia cleanser so if you would like to know more then have a look at them (here, and here). The cleanser I’ll use in the mornings (generally) is the Glossier Milk Jelly Cleanser. I’m still unsure of this product – I like it but I don’t think its anything special really, it certainly doesn’t impress me like the oskia cleanser did when I started using it. I’m also not a massive fan of the smell but it does the job and doesn’t break me out. it’s quite a light, cooling cleanser so has been good to use over the hotter months but I might have to do a proper review at a later time. Finally, I have absolutely been loving the Aveeno Positively Radiant 60 second in-shower facial. This one I’ll use in the mornings after the gym when I shower (on those days I don’t use the glossier cleanser) and I am obsessed! It’s very affordable and is just a generally nice product, it’s become part of my post-gym routine so I think I’ve subconsciously linked it to the good feeling of coming out of the gym (if that makes sense). It’s exfoliating as well and even though I haven’t used any exfoliators other than chemical ones for a while, it’s a really nice change and I just like how quick and easy it is to use in the shower. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and boosts that post-gym-glow!
Another new product here, the Glossier Solution which is marketed as a exfoliating skin perfector. I like this, it does the job and does the job however I don’t think its worth the price when I’d compare it to toners like the Pixi Glow Tonic. It does however have really nice packaging, if not a bit gimmicky. It’s got one of those pumps which you put the cotton pad on, press down and applies a good amount of product. Have you tried this? I want to know other opinions of it.
When I went home after New York I found the Dermalogica Skin Soothing Cream which I used to use quite a lot. I don’t know why I stopped using it but I decided to pick it up and start using it again. I like it as its not too heavy and has kept my skin hydrated throughout the day.
Finally, the Clarins Blue Orchid Face Oil. This one I’ve used since January and have continued using it throughout the summer. However, I have only been using this every 2-3 days as opposed to every day like I used to do. Again, I’ve spoken about this product on previous blog posts but it’s my favourite oil I’ve ever tried and could not recommend it more.
