How quickly has March rolled around?
Seriously though, it seems like yesterday I was back home ready to head down to Falmouth for my second term.
Apologies for the late upload, I was snowed into the hotel I worked at for a while and had an assignment due so things have been slightly hectic in my life.
I don’t have many new favourites at the moment – a lot of them I have spoken about before so I’ll mention them briefly then link previous blog posts that go into more depth.
I first spoke about this at the beginning of January in this blog post and I am in love. I have never found an oil that I’ve really liked using and felt like it didn’t make me feel greasy until I started using this oil. My skin had been very dehydrated which is the skin type this oil is targeted at but it can also be used on dry, oily, combination, acne-prone. Another plus is it’s 100% plant based. It has been known to help with blemishes and blemish scarring so to me it seems like it ticks most people’s boxes. I started off using it just in the evenings after cleansing, toning and applying serum but more recently I have been applying it in the morning after those three steps and it doesn’t make your skin look greasy at all through out the day.
Another product I spoke about in the blog post mentioned above, this product (along with one I’ll talk about in a bit) has stopped me getting the hormonal blemishes I used to get around that time of the month. I actually think the Clarins oil has helped too with regards to these blemishes. I have also noticed my pores don’t seem as enlarged and the depigmentation on my cheek from a scare is significantly less noticeable. I started off using this every night but have been slightly more lazy recently and now do it every 3 days when I use Sand&Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Clay Mask.
This stuff is AMAZING! I have almost finished the whole tub so will be repurchasing very soon (or asking for it for my birthday, hint hint). This mask I have been using twice a week and after using it I apply the Alpha-H Liquid Gold. My opinion on this product? Well, overall my skin is in much better condition and I have been very stressed recently which normally would mean a lot of breakouts on my forehead. Honestly I think it’s a mix of these three skincare products as I have been making a conscious effort to stick to a routine and my skin is thanking me for it. Another factor is taking time out of your day – even the 15 minutes it takes to apply, wait and remove this mask – to chill and just get your thoughts together and I think this is one that works for me.
I bought this product a long time ago to use as a primer and have rediscovered it only within the last few weeks. I have not been wearing make up recently, I feel like it doesn’t really make me feel better about myself and I have no need for it. However, this beauty has been part of my daily routine. After the Clarins oil I’ll wait about 10 minutes for it to sink into my skin and then use about two pumps of this product all over my face, focusing on my nose and T-Zone. It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and manages to stay that way right up until I cleanse my skin in the evening.
As always, this cleanser is my favourite. I don’t know if I need to say much about this as I’ve spoken about it so much but if you have no idea what I’m on about then check out my September Favourites or my Current Skincare Favourites.
Getting a Good Morning Routine
I was so disorganised last term that now I’m making a real effort to sort myself out and be organised. Something that really helps me is having a good morning routine and I’ve even become an early riser – meaning I get a lot of work done sooner and, as a result, feel a lot better about myself as the day goes on. If you want to see a blog post about my morning routine/the habits I’ve picked up then comment below.
