Coming home for christmas means sitting by the fire, watching my favourite shows on netflix and, most importantly/dangerously, online shopping!
A few of these products I did buy after one of my favourite youtuber’s Sunbeamsjess talked about them and this first one is no exception. I was looking for something to take off my makeup in my evening skincare routine and after she spoke about this oil I was sold. It’s not too pricey and I am a complete convert to using oils to take off my makeup so it was an easy choice to buy it. This I use as the first step of my evening routine, using it on dry skin to take off my makeup from the day and then rinse it off with warm water and a flannel before moving onto my second cleanse. I wouldn’t rinse this off with just water as that would leave my skin congested but with a flannel its really easy to get off.
Another Sunbeamsjess recommendation. I have been looking for a cleanser for the morning for ages! I felt like my oskia cleansing gel was a little too much in the morning so thought I’d give this one a go. This cleanser has both AHA and BHA acids in which chemically exfoliate the skin and, since my skin gets congested very easily, thought this cleanser would be perfect. It is quite a strong product as it is used by professionals so I’ve only been using this in the morning and stick with the jojoba oil and my oskia cleanser in the evening. I’m really hoping after continued use, this stuff will work wonders on my blackheads and under the skin bumps around my nose.
Yet another recommendation (can you tell I trust her judgement yet?). I have been looking for a moisturiser to try out for a while now as my trusty Clinique moisture surge has come to an end. I have no issues with the clinique moisturiser, I just wanted to give something else a go. This moisturiser is not only oil free, but also has no dimethicone or silicones in which can easily clog pores. It is on the pricey side and a lot more expensive that the clinique moisturiser but I don’t actually moisturise my face very much unless it feels dry and dehydrated so I thought the investment was worth it and hopefully it will be.
This cult beauty exclusive drew me in straight away. I’ve wanted to try liquid gold for about 6 months now and it was always in my basket on the website but I could never really justify it. When I saw the liquid gold paired with the rose gold addition (which my sister has and raves about) I thought I’d give it a go. These two serums are said to be an overnight peel which revitalises skin whilst lessening the visibility of enlarged pores, blackheads, blemishes, pigmentation, scarring and redness. The blemishes aspect I’m interested in as I get a couple of hormonal ones on my chin and the occasional stress spot on my forehead. These aren’t a massive issue for me but some reviews have claimed their spots were massively reduced overnight after using this stuff so I’m excited to see if that’s the same for me. And obviously pores and blackheads are a must but also the pigmentation/scarring/redness I found interesting as, back in October, I feel on my face (well done drunk Jess) and my check is still slightly scarred from it. I haven’t found anything to help with that yet so this might be the product. I use this every other evening after cleansing and, depending on how I’m feeling, I’ll leave it on its own to work its magic or continue with the rest of my routine.
I first heard about this on Suzie’s youtube channel and then heard Caroline Hirons rave about it. If you guys know who Caroline is you’ll know this must be good. This oil had been designed for the dehydrated skin category and I fall into that, especially when the weather gets cold. But the great thing about this oil is that it’s suitable for all skin types be it, dry, oily, combination, acne prone you name it. It’s also 100% plant based which is a massive bonus as I’m trying to watch what ingredients goes into the products I use more now. Plus, if Caroline recommends it, you know the ingredients are good. I have been using this in the evening, after my serums and before my moisturiser (unless, as mentioned above I just leave liquid gold on its own) and I can already notice a difference with regards to the dry skin on my cheeks.
I first heard about this product in the summer scrolling through my Facebook feed. The results seemed almost too good to be true and, as I was on a hunt for a different face mask, thought I’d give it a try. It comes with a little brush to apply it with and I have only used it twice but after I take it off my skin looks great! It’s also really easy to take off which is a massive bonus. I haven’t seen massive changes yet but I am going to start using it more regularly which I am hoping will do something. This product (if you haven’t heard already) contains Australian pink clay which is known to draw out impurities and toxins from the skin, as well as refining pores and deep cleansing. Instructions state to use it 2-3 times a week if you have oily or combination skin, and 1-2 times a week if you have dry, sensitive skin so I will be using this 2 times a week (if I can stick to my routine). I look forward to using this more and hopefully getting results
I love NARS eyeshadows and when I saw this palette on Feel Unique my jaw dropped. The shades are completely up my street as I always go for warmer tones as opposed to cool tone shadows and there is a mix of matte and metallic which is good to see. I haven’t tried this out yet but I have watched some of the shadows and they’re so pigmented I can’t wait to use them!
So that is everything! I am now a very happy but very broke girl. In about 8 weeks I plan on uploading another post reviewing these products so keep an eye out for that! If you’ve tried any of these products tell me what you think below.
