So I think I’m finally getting back into the swing of things here at Falmouth. For a while I was missing home but I’m very happy to be back with my lovely flatmates and have remembered how much I love this place.
I’ve started a new blog focussed on studying Creative Writing at University and what it’s like. Much like on here I’m going to try and post once a week, each time varying the content but relating to the modules I am currently studying. If you’d like to get updates from this blog be sure to check it out here.
About a week into getting back I got last semesters results and, for the most part, I was very happy with how I did; if not a little surprised.
I also uploaded a video onto YouTube from my first semester which you can have a look at here.
Starting uni again is a big change, I didn’t really know what I was going to expect from this term – I had a vague idea about that modules but wasn’t sure what they were going to include. Now on my third week I have more of an idea. It was difficult getting into them at first because they all seemed very journalism based and thats not the kind of writing I like to do (that’s the main reason I chose creative writing over journalism – because I don’t like writing editorials) but now they all seem to be moving into different areas of the writing spectrum and I’m really enjoying it.
For this semester I also decided to bring my car down here, something I didn’t do at the beginning as I wasn’t sure what Falmouth would be like. I’ve definitely taken advantage of having a car now though as I have been to the beach a lot more than before (even though it’s only the start of February) and am finding it a lot easier to get around.
In just over a week I’m off to Dubai for a little break with Shelley (my best friend) and I can’t wait to see my family who currently live out there. If you’re a long time reader of jessiecrescent you’ll remember them from many blog posts.
Anyway, that’s enough from me. How are you doing today?
