I thought I’d mix it up a bit this month. If you follow my instagram you’ll know I was performing at The King’s Head Theatre in Islington throughout March with the drama group JAM Productions. It was the show I performed with them in Edinburgh so it was great to work with the talented cast again (plus some lovely newbies) and perform the role of Lizzie. Apart from during these shows I wanted to give my face a bit of a break from makeup so today I’m going to share with you how I did my makeup for the show.
I start by prepping my skin using the pix makeup fixing mist which can be used before, during or after applying makeup. I feel like it works great for giving my skin a boost of moisture and prevents any dry patches appearing later on. Next using my RT Expert Face Brush I apply the Mac Watchmaster Foundation in the shade 1.5 which is a perfect match for me. I find 1 pump works for a full face medium coverage, but sometimes I apply a little bit more to places that need a little fuller coverage such as around my nose where I have some scars from blemishes. Next I like to go in with not 1, not 2, but 3 concealers on the various areas of my face. The first one being the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector in the shade Light to Medium Bisque. I apply this under my eyes with the RT setting brush and it does a great job hiding my dark under eye circles and blends in really easily. Next I go in with the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in Warm medium 3 on any blemishes I may have so again around my nose, on my forehead and chin. After blending with the setting brush again i’ll just go over with my fingers especially around my nose to make sure it’s not cakey. Concealer 3 comes in a bit later so next I move onto the rest of my face. To contour I love the Clinique chubby stick sculpting contour in 01 Curvy Contour. I apply this under my cheekbones, down my temples and down the sides of my nose to give my face some dimensions, again using the Expert Face Brush to blend this in. Now I use myRT Duo-fibre contour bush to apply the contour colour in the Seventeen Define and Conquer contour kit. To then bronze up my face and chin I use the same shade on my RT multi task brush and outline a 3 along my face and take it down onto the neck. Once I’ve used all the product on my brush I will use it again but this time with the highlighting shade on the tops of my cheekbones and down my nose. Next, with the Zoeva luxe sheer cheek brush I like to apply the Nars blush in Sin onto the apples of my cheeks.
Now onto eyes, I start by applying to Too Faced shadow insurance eyeshadow primer all over the lid, followed by my still eyes are the window palette in Soul. Using the shade Kitten and my RT Base shadow brush I apply this shimmery colour onto the front 3/4 of my lid up to the crease. Next, using the same brush I apply the shade thought onto the other 1/4 of my eyelid towards to outer corner. I also like to bring this into the crease a little bid as it adds some nice dimension to the eye. Onto the outer corner, mixing the shades being and character I use my Zoeva Luxe Petit crease to apply these shades in a v shape on the outer corner and through into my crease a little (going no more than 1/3 through the crease) creating a smoke eye effect. When I feel like both eyes are equal, I’ll then go in with my Zoeva Luxe soft definer to blend. Next up I take my Stila stay all day liquid eyeliner and create a slight flick at the end. To stop this smudging I’ll then use the Zoeva wing liner brush and apply Essence from the stila palette over the top.
Now is when I go in with my third concealer under my eyes incase there has been any fall down whilst I did my eyes. For this I use the Maybelline Anti-Age concealer in Nude with my RT Domed shadow brush. Then I will set under my eyes and my T-zone with the Mac MSF natural in the shade Medium with my RT Duo Fibre Face Brush. After this I like to curl my eyelashes with the Shu umera Eyelash curler and apply my favourite Lancome Hypnose Volume-a-Porter Mascara. Now for brows I just brush any product that was sitting in them out with the & Other Stories spoolie then use my Soap and Glory Brow archery pencil to fill them in. Finally for lips I apply the YSL Volupte tint-in-oil lip oil then the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 01.
So that is everything you need to know about how I applied my makeup for the show and basically what has been on my face in March. Would you be interested in seeing an evening and morning routine from me?
