In-Flight Essentials

My blog posts have been really messed up this week but a new mantra of mine is to accept and move on so because that’s in the past I’m apologising and moving forward. As I’m writing this, in two days I will be on a plane on my way to Italy to enjoy their snowy mountains for the week. I haven’t skiied since California last year and although that may not seem like a long time ago it definitely feels like it. Today I am sharing with you everything I am taking with me on the flight to Italy on Monday – sidenote, Monday’s blog post will be up on Wednesay and I will be missing Thursday’s post so the next one will be up on April 11th, confusing but bare with me! The bag I am using is my Longchamp bag, no idea what it’s called but I talk about it here.

The Essentials: Obviously you wouldn’t be able to get anywhere without a passport, your plane ticket, or some money (both normal currency and the currency for wherever you’re off to) so those are essential. I also have my phone, my notebook and a book – my current read is Yes Please but I’m also taking All The Bright Places – and finally some fruit pastilles because you’ve always got to take sweets on your flight.

Clothing: I really dislike wearing jeans when flying, saying that though, due to light packing, I have decided to bare jeans for that 1 hour. I love Topshop’s Joni Jeans as they have a lot of movement in them (is that a thing????) owners of Joni jeans will understand. I also go for converse because…you know…converse…need I say more? A comfy t-shirt and an oversized hoodie complete my “plane look” not forgetting my ski jacket from Roxy (it’s so pretty I love it) as it’s never a good idea trying to fit it in your phone case.

Beauty: I’m not really one for wearing makeup on flights and I’ll rarely bring it with me to apply at the end. That being said I still have some beauty things that I bring. The only time I will use face wipes are either when I’m in a show or on flights and I like the Simple exfoliating wipes because I feel like they actually do something to my skin. Hand sanitiser is another must as you never know where your hands are going. I get the driest knuckles as well so I am always in need of a hand cream, this one by The Body Shop is a god send and it smells great too!  A really hydrating moisturiser is also key as the plane continues to suck the life from your skin. I’m trying a sample of the Zelens Instant Renewal Mask which is said to be “An instant beauty boost, this is S.O.S. for every skin crisis – the perfect pre-party face saver whenever your skin’s looking dulled, dry or distinctly lacklustre – hydrating, oxygenating, energising, protecting and renewing your complexion in one fell swoop.” ummm yes please! I like to take a multi-tasking lip balm that I can put on my cuticles as well and for me aquaphor does the job. Finally the only makeup I will bring is my Mac MSF Natural in medium and the Real Techniques Duo-Fibre Face brush just incase I need to control my shine.

Electrics: Finally electrics. As a blogger and someone thinking about starting a youtube channel (yes, no? I need your opinions) I carry my Canon Eos M camera and my GoPro Hero 4. As mentioned before I carry my iPhone 6s and then all those chargers, spare batteries/memory cards etc and my headphones

Music: No flight would be complete without a good playlist. Here is what’s on mine: Fall Out Boy, Coasts, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Wolf Alice, Frank Turner, Florence + The Machine, Foals, Mumford and Sons, The Wombats, Atlas Genius, Circa Waves, Newton Faulkner, Lucy Rose, The Gaslight Anthem and WALK THE MOON

What are your inflight essentials?
