Today I am going to share with you my Dubai Picks; be it, clothes, hair, makeup, skincare, or music!
As you probably know, the UAE have very strict rules for clothes when out and about. Everyday I was out there I took a picture of my outfit so that is what is below.
As I am a typical girl I had to have every single type of dress I could physically fit into my suitcase
This first dress is from Missguided and I Love It!
This next one is from Asos and it’s actually a playsuit. I wore it when I went to Abu Dhabi and Yas Waterworld
My swimming costume is from next and I am in love with the colour!
The next day in Abu Dhabi we chilled by the hotel pool – my dress is from New Look but used to be my sister’s (shhh)
For brunch – Oh God! The Brunch! I wore this khaki, flower-patterned dress from Topshop (I cried when I handed over the money but have received many compliments about it)
At Atlantis I wore the beach dress again and also one of my favourite bikinis!
My bikini is from a shop in Dorset (plus I just included this because I love the view!) My sister’s bikini is from Victoria Secret – I am very jealous of it.
So in Dubai they have this thing called a brunch…ever heard of it?
You arrive at the location (ours was by the stunning Burj al Arab) at around 12:30, and you eat to your hearts content for 4 hours; yep you heard me correctly, FOUR HOURS! although you don’t really last that long. Word of advice from someone whose been to two, look round first, then pick your food – and only pick one of everything because – take it from someone who knows – you will want to DEVOUR EVERYTHING!
As it was halloween a lot of things were shaped to look like ghosts and ghouls – just adding to the fun of it!
From the British Fish and Chips, to the timeless classic that is an American Slider (a burger)
Jamaica to China and all the way back to Halloween town – my favourite was the dim sum and “MAKE YOUR OWN NOODLE SOUP STATION”
But another favourite was of course the dessert! Mini puddings and pumpkins alike, there was a whole room dedicated to the sweet treats – and rooms are BIG in Dubai!
Beauty and what not
The makeup I took with me was very minimal. I’m not much of a makeup wearer anyway, give or take a powder, eyebrow pencil and the occasional concealer and mascara. In terms of this, I took the Soap and Glory One Heck of a Blot powder, and the Bare Minerals Mineral Veil limited edition (similar), S&G archery in hot chocolate, this Rimmel concealer, and as a mascara the Anastasia brow gel (I hate this for my brows – contrary to EVERY OTHER BEAUTY BLOGGER OUT THERE). In terms of makeup for the evenings out or days out I brought my Charlotte Tillbury eyeshadow palette in The Sophisticate (love Love LOVE), this maybelline mascara, and my ysl rouge volute sheer candy in luscious cherry. I am also took my trusty The Body Shop tea tree primer, and the Clarins perfecting touch primer.
Skincare wise, I love origins! I used an eye cream, day moisturiser, night moisturiser, and spot gel of theirs daily. Along with my cleansing oil. I took all of the above, plus my nuxe lip balm, palmer’s cocoa butter lip balm, origins intensive mask, caudalie beauty elixir, and a trusty hand sanitiser and hand cream on the flight with me.
Of course I’m also brought suncream and moisturiser. That just isn’t as interesting.
Here is my go to playlist for Dubai, the flight there and back, just a nice playlist with a mix of genres
I had a great holiday and sadly am dealing with some post-holiday-blues right now (anyone else here the rain like
tiny MASSIVE feet on their roof?)
Have a great weekend!
