In Words: Quote 13072014

This week I have been doing a lot of thinking about films vs fiction, and which one is better. I definitely vote for books being better and have been writing an editorial about it which could be up on this blog soon. When researching for my editorial, I stumbled across a quote that the talented F. Scott Fitzgerald once said. I thought it described perfectly what I was trying to say and made me think about how one of the biggest parts of finishing a book is working through it.

Life is essentially a cheat and its conditions are those to defeat; the redeeming things are not happiness and pleasure but the deeper satisfactions that come out of struggle
